Nowadays, we have met with many customers asking fiber laser metal cutting machine.
The most material is the stainless steel.
As is known to all, the easiest cutting material is carbon steel, and for the same power, the stainless steel would be thinner.
So what kind of power we need for different thickness of stainless steel?
This passage will give u a detailed solution for that.
1.How to choose power of the fiber laser metal cutting machine?
We all know that the power we introduce depends on the thickness of the stainless steel.
So at first we need to figure our what is the max thickness of customer material?
Take one of my customer for example:he told me that he wanted to cut max 3mm stainless steel.
Then we introduce the 750w fiber laser metal cutting machine to him.
Below is the cutting parameter for your reference:

As we could see in the form, for the 750w machine, the max thickness is 4mm.
So when customer tell the max thickness, we need leave 1mm, so that assure it could cut with no problem.
2.What kind of gas needed for stainless steel cutting?
There is total three gases for the fiber laser metal cutting machine.
Namely, oxygen, nitrogen and air.
So what kind of gas we need for the stainless steel cutting?
The answer is nitrogen.
If we use the oxygen gas, it may burn the stainless steel sheet, and make the material become black.
Then it may influence the outer appearance.
Therefore, the customer usually choose the nitrogen to cute the machine.
The oxygen is mainly used for carbon steel cutting.
